Even the Kiss comics are getting sick of Kiss...
More cheese! Kiss are officially no longer a rock band and have moved into the genre of cheesy radio pop. That's totally a genre you can search on iTunes and Spotify. There you will find this album. And, like, Icona Pop or something. I like Icona Pop. I Love It makes me feel like a sexy badass bitch.
Oh, I'm listening to Kiss and not Icona Pop? Sure, if you insist...
Well it opens with a great line about a "Cat drooling at the bar stool". Yup. But Is That You? is actually a really fun song, so I'll let that slide for now. Then we get that pop classic Shandi, which is all kinds of awesome. Then Ace Frehley keeps the awesome coming with Talk to Me. Gene decides things have been too fun so far, so he chimes in with some painfully forced singing on Naked City. Which would otherwise be a good song. Paul brings back the awesome fun cheese with Tomorrow, before Ace sings about how much of a bummer it is for him having his pick of the women in Two Sides of the Coin. Hard life, huh Ace?
She's So European may well be the silliest song Kiss have ever done. Then it gets outdone 2 songs later by Torpedo Girl. Then the album ends with You're All That I Want, which I really dig for some reason. I think it is the guitar work. Or I am just weird like that. Whatever.
And we say "Goodbye" to Peter Criss. Even though he didn't play on this album at all. But 1980 Kiss didn't want you to know that, so he is still on the cover and in the credits like he rocked those drums and sang lots of backup vocals. Good times.
